Great Places for Coffee

on the Isle of Wight

One thing you might not have realised about the Island is that we have a plethora of places to enjoy a freshly ground, hand-poured coffee, and several artisan coffee roasters.

We’ve listed some of our favourite places to go get your caffeine fix, whether it be a post-hike pitstop, a lazy lunch, or to fuel yourself for a day of adventure.

 

Fins Beach Cafe, Sandown

Offering incredible views of Sandown Bay, there’s no better way to power up for a full day ahead than sitting beachside with an energising coffee and one of Fins Beach Cafe’s trademark smoothie bowls bursting with vibrant colours. Choose from traditional or flavoured hot coffees or cool down with a creamy iced frappé. 

 

Caffé Isola, Newport

Caffé Isola

The home of local favourite Island Roasted coffee, sip on silky smooth hot beverages with over 20 years of expertise hand-poured into every cup. Ethically sourcing the highest quality beans, Caffé Isola's coffee is roasted in small batches to allow the beans to develop their intense flavour. You can even see some of this in action in their first-floor roastery and pick up some beans to take home. 


Comicoffee, Cowes & Newport

Comicoffee 

With one location in Newport and another ideally situated next to our Red Jet terminal in West Cowes, Comicoffee serve up delicious coffee, light bites and sweet snacks with a playful comic book theme. Rest assured though their coffee is taken very seriously, with rich flavours courtesy of Island Roasted coffee beans and gorgeous latte art by Comicoffee’s skilled baristas.

The perfect place for a beachside brew! With an idyllic seafront location, a coffee date at The Coffee Bubble will have you feeling like you’ve stepped abroad. Offering a selection of show-stopping hot drinks, their creamy creations even extend to mushroom superblend lattes for a vitality boost, with non-dairy options available. 

 

The Little Coffee Bike, Egypt Point

The Little Coffee Bike

This charming pop-up is a great place to pause on a stroll along the coastal path from Cowes to Gurnard. Offering far-reaching views of the busy Solent, enjoy a fresh velvety coffee while you watch the ships go by, or even treat your pooch to a puppucino. Find The Little Coffee Bike trading at Egypt Point on weekends from 10am to 4pm. 

 

Artisan Cafe, East Cowes

Artisan Cafe

Just moments from our East Cowes terminal, Artisan Cafe is a great place to stop before or after hopping on the ferry. This cosy family-run establishment offers a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful décor, and some of the finest handmade sourdough on the Island which is incorporated into their delicious brunch dishes. Serving bold Island Roasted brews, plenty of attention to detail goes into crafting rich coffees with the perfect pour. 

 

Sounds + Grounds, Cowes

Sounds + Grounds

Situated on Birmingham Road in Cowes, just a very short stroll from the bustling high street, Sounds + Grounds is a must for music vinyl and coffee aficionados, with the added bonus of being dog-friendly. With coffee as bold as the beats playing on the stereo, take a while to peruse their racks of records while enjoying your beverage of choice.

 

The Piano Cafe, Freshwater

A wonderfully quirky café in the West Wight with royal connections, The Piano Cafe was once home to Queen Victoria’s piano tuner. Grab a handcrafted coffee such as a ‘Flat Wight’, take in the tasteful décor, and channel your inner Chopin on the community piano. 

 

Harvey Browns, Arreton

Harvey Browns

Any foodies in the family will love a trip to Harvey Browns, a one-stop-shop kitchen, butchers and deli offering the finest Island foods from a range of local producers - including their own farm. Their modern, airy building sits beside a scenic lake and offers views out across the Arreton Valley – a lovely, relaxing spot to sit outside in the sun with a cuppa.
